Euler maintenance (June 2018)

CSCS informed us that the data center will be undergoing maintenance on Wednesday 13 June 2018, which will require a complete shutdown of Euler.

We will take this opportunity to do some additional maintenance on Euler itself the days before and after the CSCS maintenance. To prepare for the downtime, the Euler cluster will be off-line from 13:00 on Tuesday, 12 June, 2018.

As usual, batch queues will be progressively inactivated in the days and hours prior to the maintenance, to ensure that no jobs get killed when the cluster is shut down.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

We will update this page once there is more information about the maintenance.

The CSCS site maintenance is complete. Power and cooling are back online. We are progressively bringing the cluster back online to perform system maintenance. We expect to open the login nodes tomorrow morning and power on the compute nodes during the day.

The login nodes are back online. Compute nodes will gradually be brought online, starting with the shortest queues. We have opened the 4h and the 24h queues. The Euler system status is set back to fully operational. We expect to open the longer queues tomorrow.

All queues are open. The cluster is back to normal operation.
