After nearly 5 years of operation, Euler IV was decommissioned on 7 November 2022 to make room for the upcoming Euler VIII expansion.

The new Euler VIII will deliver 2.4 more computing power (24,576 vs. 10,368 cores) in the same space and power envelope.

Like Euler I, II and III, Euler IV will be bought back by HPE, and the money from this sale will be reinvested in new compute nodes for the public share of Euler.

Note: The decommissioning of Euler IV means that Intel Xeon Gold 6150 processors are no longer available. Jobs requesting this specific CPU model will therefore never run.
